· Awarded Andrés Irujo Saria from Basque Government. (2006). RESOLUTION of March 9, 2006, by the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Basque Goverment, by which the "Andrés de Irujo" award is summoned for the year. The Decree 98/2000, of June 6, regulates the Prize "Andrés de Irujo" for works of creation or works of investigation related to the Basque presence abroad, and its object is to award the works that contribute to the knowledge and diffusion of the history of the Basques and the Basque culture abroad, through their testimony, and creativity, contributing to make the members of the Basques Colectivities abroad and the Basque Centers part of the historical recovery. The Decree establishes in its article 1 that will be summoned annually by means of the corresponding resolution.

The American Army at the European Theatre of Operations created the Biarritz American University (BAU) after the EV Day in order to reduce the possibility of postwar depression brought on by widespread unemployment. The university reached more than 350 professors and about 12,000 students from august 1945 to March 1946 divided in eight different faculties offering a thick catalogue that detailed 335 different study courses. The article relates how the BAU was planned, created, organized and then, closed, exploring at the same time which were the pedagogical methods used at the BAU.

Retelling or rewriting history is a difficult task rarely exempt of subjectivity. "Historiography" is the study of the way history is written, in other words, the record of historical writing. One of the contemporary approaches to the history of the Basque country is the so called "demythificational" (from mythification to demythification); but the intends of demythifying history supported by this historiographycal trend of thought have frequently become to be a new subjective interpretations of the Basque history sustained on a certain political basis.
