GRANTS

 

Teaching Development Mini Grant from The College of Arts and Sciences $600 and supplemental $400 from the Teaching and Learning Center at Boise State University. This grant will be used to create a multimedia catalog of best practices examples in foreign language teaching. Fall 2007

 

Grant to create the first Basque Language Preschool (Boise, Idaho) in the United States. The grant was awarded by the Basque Government. Ten years later the Basque government is still supporting (2007) the Basque preschool in Boise, Idaho. 1997

Translation of a poem and adaptation of the translation to a traditional Basque melody. It was interpreted and recorded by the Biotzetik Basque Choir of Boise. 2007

 

I taught Basque as a volunteer, to children in the Basque preschool for two weeks in May, 2007.

 

Performed puppet shows in Basque for the Boise Basque preschool. 1998-present.

 

Currently teaching a Basque conversation class at the Basque Museum and Cultural Center. Spring 2007

 

Attended meetings with the Boise Basque Museum and Cultural Center as an adviser for planning and coordinate strategies to teach Basque in the Boise area.

 

Constant work in building a bridge for mutual collaboration between Boise State’s Basque Studies Minor and the Center for Basque Studies in Reno.

 

Organized with the Basque Museum and Cultural Center, “EUSKARZ BLAI”, an evening where BSU Basque language students, Museum Basque language students and Basque speakers in the community had a chance to interact by speaking  Basque for an evening. 2006

 

Visited Boise’s Foothills School with BSU’s Basque 101 class to teach Basque for a morning. Taught Basque to 150 children. 2005
