Japanese or Spanish?
Boise
State University grants CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING if you can
demonstrate those skills.
Here
is a general overview on how to do so. Be
sure to consult with your Academic Advisor.
*You
must be enrolled at Boise State University to apply for Credit for Prior
Learning.
*You
must be enrolled at Boise State University for the semester in which the
credit is granted.
*You
must complete 12 credits at Boise State University before the credit will
be recorded.
Students
may NOT challenge a course to improve a previous grade or replace a grade
of PASS.
Up
to 8 credits earned will count toward the Area I Core requirement.

Please take the Placement Exam
for French, German or Spanish in the Assessment
Center, TS 115.
Call 426-2762 for the schedule. You may pay the $5 fee in TS 115 and
will need your student number and a photo ID. The exam takes
about an hour and you receive the results immediately.

grade of PASS?
This is called Credit for Pre-requisite Not Taken.
You can receive the
credits, applicable to Area I Core, but there is no impact on
your GPA.

You may take a Challenge
Exam for any class below the level of your Placement Exam
score. Challenge exams are only given during the first five
weeks of Fall and Spring semesters. You must accept the grade that you score on the exam.
Grades of A, B or C impact your GPA. Scores of D or F will not
be recorded.
