Challenge Exams:
Boise State University offers credit by challenge examination. Please refer to Credit for Prior Learning.
Language Resource Center State-of-the-art, interactive lab equipment is available to assist students in their language studies. Most 100- and 200- level language courses require lab participation such as video, conversation, and computer activities in the Language Resource Center, for which students pay an additional laboratory fee. Computer resources include word processing and internet search capability in Chinese.
Credit for Prior Learning: Once a student enrolls in and successfully completes a language course beyond the 101 level with a grade of ”C” or higher, he or she may petition to receive credit for all courses prerequisite to the level successfully completed. For example, a student who successfully completes Chinese 201 may receive credit for CHIN 101 and CHIN 102.

FORLNG 320 CHINA TODAY (3-0-3)(F/S). Survey of contemporary China including cultural and historical roots, nation-building efforts, political, economic and social systems, and domestic and foreign policies. Discussion of Hong Kong, Tibet, and Taiwan. Prereq: HIST 121.
FORLNG 321 CHINESE CULTURE THROUGH FILM (3-0-3)(F/S)Screening and discussion of films from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong for their historical, cultural, thematic, and aesthetic content in the context of modern Chinese cultures. Prereq: HIST 121.
