Modern Languages Resource Center – Lab

Location and Hours
L144: Resource Center (Lab desk phone 426-4252)
We are located on the first floor of the Boise State University Albertson Library building. We have a separate outside entrance identified as “Modern Languages & Literatures” on the west side of the building. The Research Administration and History-Sociology-Criminal Justice offices have entrances on the same side of the building. A campus map is available.
We are open from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Friday hours are from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Saturday from noon to 3 pm.
In addition to the main resource center, there are language related resources in the following locations:
MP 121: Student Computer lab. This is a large open lab with word processing and internet software (phone 426-4042) open 7:30 am to midnight Monday to Thursday plus other hours Friday (7:30 am to 6 pm), Saturday ( 9am – 3 pm) and Sunday (9 am to 9 pm).
CRC: Curriculum Resource Center on the 2nd floor of the BSU Library, houses audio and visual materials in various languages.
Resources
State of the art, interactive lab equipment is available to assist students in their language studies. Computers, TV/VCR/DVD players, CDs, DVDs and language-specific word processing software enhance the language learning experiences. Students can access international newspapers, magazines and other internet resources.

Computers:
Microsoft Word for Windows includes spell checking for Spanish, French and German. Microsoft Word on the iMac includes spell checking for French, German, Spanish and Japanese.
Safari on the Mac and Internet Explorer on Windows provide access to resources on the internet including BroncoWeb, BroncoMail and language web sites.
Keyboard layouts for Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish are available on all computers.
Schedules for Conversation Labs (No English used) and Study Groups (English as necessary) are posted weekly on the bulletin board outside the Modern Languages Resource Center L144.
